Welcome to Red Kite Retreats.

Five of our Retreats sit in the peace of woodland deep in the Chiltern Area of outstanding Natural Beauty away from the roads or housing – just tracks to walk and cycle on. A further two Barns are located nearby in stunning countryside with a bridleway right on the doorstep – perfect for walking.

The Private Country Estate is owned by a country loving family who love improving the environment and encouraging wildlife on their extensive 1,000 acres of pastures and woodland.

To be seen are over 60 species of bird including the enormous red kites and 3 species of deer, rabbits, squirrels, weasel and badgers (5 large setts). The Estate raises sheep – over 500 Welsh Lleyn sheep and a special flock of Swiss Valais Blacknose sheep – click here to visit our farm website.

We enjoy absolutely stunning views of the very special countryside and yet we can be boating on the River Thames in 20 minutes by hire or shopping in the most attractive town in England, Henley On Thames.

We wanted to share the hidden gems of the Estate with others, creating unique overnight experiences. Allowing guests to live alongside nature, relax, unwind, gaze up into the stars, observe the wildlife and truly soak up the amazing scenery. This is why Red Kite Retreats was born.
